Precision in measurement is fundamental to safe and efficient plant operations. At the Okpai Independent Power Plant (IPP), the Operations team recently carried out scheduled maintenance on the diesel bulk tank level measurement system to ensure continued reliability and accuracy.
Technical Intervention and Calibration
Maintenance support was requested to recalibrate the diesel level transmitter — a critical instrument responsible for monitoring fuel levels and transmitting real-time data to the Central Control Room (CCR).
The maintenance activity included:
Safe purging of the level transmitter
Verification of zero and span settings
Confirmation of accurate signal transmission to the CCR
Zero and span calibration define the instrument’s operating range and ensure that measurement outputs correspond precisely to the actual fuel level within the tank.
